CertNivo does not pretend that its current browser PDF library can securely add standards-compliant PDF encryption when it cannot.
A proper password-protection feature requires real PDF encryption support. This page intentionally does not label a simple JavaScript wrapper as encryption.
For PDFs you own or are authorized to access, enter the correct password in a compatible PDF application and save an unprotected copy when permitted. CertNivo does not provide password cracking or protection-bypass functionality.
A standards-compliant encryption component can be added later without weakening the rest of the browser-first PDF suite.
